My local library had a bunch of books for sale.
Here's what I got*:
Factory Made - Warhol and the Sixties by Steven WatsonThis is How - M.J Hyland
The Importance of Music to Girls - Lavinia Greenlaw
Love is a Mix Tape - Rob Sheffield.
I am most excited about the first one. One of my favourite reads of this year was Olivia Laing's The Lonely City, in no small part because of the attention she gives Valerie Solanas. When I picked up Factory Made it fell upon on this photograph of Solanas as a young girl. It has a whole chapter dedicated to Factory denizens and their childhoods. So basically I want to have a weekend away with this book now ...
*All for the princely sum of $2.
